Review: NYX Lingerie Liquid Lipsticks
We are back with another review and this is an exciting one!!!
NYX just released new products in their 2016 range and I was most excited about their Lingerie liquid lipsticks. I am a huge fan of NYX's Soft Matte lip cream so when I saw they were releasing this I was stoked!!!
I love nude lip colors for day to day because they are just so wearable! Like I've said in previous blog posts, I keep it pretty simple generally for college with just mascara typically so a nude lip is my go-to!
When it comes to lipstick finishes, my all time favorite is matte because I find the lasting power the strongest throughout the day. I like a lipstick that I know can last from 9am to 9pm and everything in between! Being able to eat in confidence that your lipstick won't budge is a major necessity.
Here's a swatch of the lipsticks that I picked up! When applying, I usually apply two coats but this swatch is only one so you can clearly see they are highly pigmented. It's a very thick liquid that applies like a dream! They dry very quickly and become virtually smudge proof.
It takes a little TLC to remove, I tried removing with a makeup wipe and it took several swipes to finally make progress and get the product off. I don't mind this at all because at to me, that means it'll withstand anything!
The wand is slightly longer than the soft matte lip creams which makes for easier application.
I love the packaging. It reminds me of Kylie's Lip Kit, obviously without the design. It's in a nice glass-like bottle which looks very chic. The color in the bottle isn't exactly the same as on application but that just varies on skin tone and the base it is applied on.
I've worn them all all day and even throughout eating and drinking out of a water bottle all day, it lasted really well! Even the darker ones!
The formula is also very easy to reapply throughout the day if you feel like you need to.
If you've wearing it all day, because of the matte formula, it can start to dry out your lips. I take my EOS lip balm (any colorless lip balm will work) and apply the product to my finger and pat the product on my lips just to freshen them up and add a little moisture.
I picked these bad boys up at CVS. They were $6.99 each but on promotion of Buy 1 get 1 50% off so half of them I got for only $3.49!!!
Overall, I am a huge fan of this product and glad I picked up a few! I would highly reccommend this if you're like me and want all day coverage and don't mind it drying out your lips slightly. These are totally fast becoming my go-to lippies!
9/10
Emily, good post. I like NYX products so I'll give this a try. Thanks. Grandma
