First Impression: Urban Decay One & Done
To begin, I am a huge fan of Urban Decay products. I've given my skin a break from foundation for awhile so lately I was just using the Urban Decay Naked Skin BB Cream instead of a foundation which I was loving.
Unfortunately, my BB Cream was running out and I decided to give the new One and Done product a try! I'd seen a few bloggers and beauty gurus give it shot so I thought I would too. I've never been disappointed with a product from Urban Decay so I thought it was a safe bet!
On the Urban Decay website, they said this about the product:
"Naked Skin One & Done Hybrid Complexion Perfector combines all the benefits of skin treatment and protection with the coverage of a sheer foundation."
They even go on to say that there is no need for foundation as this product evens out skin tone and blurs imperfections.
They conducted a clinical study which results said:
"a majority of participants had an immediate improvement in the look of skin tone that lasted for up to 8 hours."
Now, for me this is all a load of crap.
One thing I liked about this was that it came in a variety of shades for different skin tones unlike the BB cream which I would sometimes find too tan for me. That was the only thing I liked.
In terms of the packaging, I was very disappointed. I thought it would be a squeezy tube like the BB cream but it actually has a pump:
I don't like this because with a normal tube, you can squeeze every last drop of the product out until it's nearly completely empty whereas you can't with this!
And speaking of empty.....
Upon opening and pumping about 10 times until the product came out, the product ended inside the bottle at the beginning of the letter 'E' you can see in the photos of the tube.
I was sincerely disappointed about this as I felt it was a bit of a rip off to not get the full value for my money.
This product retails for $34/ €32 and for it to come 1/4 empty.... I was not impressed.
Now, in terms of the quality... I am afraid I am disappointed here, too.
I was expecting a lightweight formula with a small bit of coverage and that is not what I got. I barely felt like there was ANY coverage. My imperfections, my eye bags, my acne scars, my pores, all still very visible.
I would under no circumstances wear this without concealer and powder.
To me, it is not a "one and done" product. I still need other products to be finished so I was quite disappointed.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone. I was seriously disappointed and find it extremely overpriced for the lack of quality of it all around.
I rate this a 3/10
Hope this first impression and tiny review was helpful in any way!! Let me know if you've tried it and what you think!
