REVIEW: Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette
I was absolutely SPOILED this Christmas. One of the items I got which I fully did not expect although I had talked about it A LOT due to pure excitement was the Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette from my lovely boyfriend (boyfriend of the year?)
I'm not gonna lie, people, I got teary eyed when I saw it. I wanted it SO BAD because the color and finish range is absolutely amazing! There are 10 neutral shades and 5 bold shades! 8 shades have matte finishes and 7 have shimmery finishes! FUN FACT: All of her shades are named after influences in Gwen's life or song titles!
When it comes to my day-to-day makeup, I tend to keep it quite simple due to pure laziness so I stick to my neutral tones. What I love about this palette is that it basically has every neutral tone you'd need in both matte and shimmery finishes! Then, there's the bottom row which has perfect go-to colors for going out or more dramatic eye make-up!
In my opinion, this has the best color range of all of the Urban Decay palettes. The Vice palettes have a lot of striking bright colors that for someone who keeps it natural most of the time, would be absolutely wasted on me. The Naked palettes are great, but I've found that you tend to have your favorite four or three shades and stick to them. The ratio of matte to shimmer finishes is quite poor with shimmer being predominant. The Naked Basics palettes are super handy for the matte huns out there (eg me) but again, they're really for simple day looks. The Smoked palette would be the most similar to this palette as it has some neutrals and darker colors for going out. This palette however has the best range in colors and finishes, not to mention it has a whopping 15 shades! If I had to choose one holy grail eye shadow palette in the entire world, it would be without a doubt, the Gwen Stefani palette.
Here is a description of the shades categorised in finishes:
Matte:
- Blonde- Perfect neutral base flesh tone color.
- Skimp- Similar to Blonde with more pink tones perfect for the lid!
- Punk- A deep brown with red undertones
- Anaheim- a taupey brown that is ideal for a crease color!
- Stark- Similar to Skimp but slightly darker and slightly more pink
- Zone- Similar to Anaheim but darker and more of a coffee brown.
- Serious- A true deep gunmetal grey.
- Blackout- Urban Decay's signature perfect black.
Shimmer:
- Bathwater- Neutral flesh tone with a hint of pink tones.
- Steady- Neutral slightly copper color.
- Baby- Light pink/ purple tones in a neutral taupe color.
- Pop- the perfect rose gold color!
- Harajuku- A bright Barbie pink
- Danger-True cobalt blue

Swatches
CAN WE PLEASE LOOK AT THAT COLOR PAY OFF!! Oh my goodness! My eyes nearly bulged out of my head when I swatched this! Urban Decay have always been renowned for their eyeshadows, and personally, they are my go-to eyeshaodw brand but hot damn, this is too good to be true. If you just look at those colors! All done without any type of base or primer, I simply swiped my fingers and that perfection came off!
Overall, I'm in love with this palette. I honestly do not have any negative feedback over it. The colors are long lasting and very pigmented. My only issue is when I use it all up and it's out of stock! My worst nightmare!
10/10
