Review: L'Oreal Lumi Cushion Foundation

This was a product I picked up by the recommendation of a fellow beauty blogger, The Glamourelle shortly after my haul which is why it wasn't featured in it! It's brand new from L'Oreal's 2016 line and as of yet, unavailable in Ireland.
First and foremost, I am obsessed with the packaging. It's top has that rose gold color on the rim which I am OBSESSED with. It looks so chic and like something you'd fine in a higher end line like Too Faced or Tarte. I like how compact it is which is perfect for on the go to pop in your purse if you're doing your makeup on the run or touching up throughout the day.
Now, I had absolutely no idea how to expect this product to look like on the inside. I wasn't sure if it was a liquid or powder or what!

So, when you first open it up, you reveal a handy mirror and this cute little sponge to use for application. It's super soft and picks up the product really well! I haven't used any brushes or my Beauty Blender with the product because I find that the application with the sponge is good as is and I mean, it came with it so it's got to be the best option, right?

You then take the sponge out and open the next compartment to this! At first I was a little mystified because it looks like a rock and I was sitting there like, "Where's the product?!" However, I pressed in and the product transferred clearly onto it.
I use the sponge and press into the sponge with the product and a lot of the foundation transfers over. I actually really like this because you never run into the problem of having too much foundation or pouring the foundation onto the back of your hand and then having to wash it off. It's just a no mess, hassle-free application process.
I tend to pat the product on the sponge over my face as opposed to dragging it. This builds up more coverage which, obviously is what you want. It has a great finish. It's not oily or shiny so if you're really in a rush and have normal type skin like me, this will be perfect for you as you wouldn't necessarily need to apply a powder over it! (I still do, but that's just me.)
As mentioned before, it's super convenient to just pop in your bag for doing makeup on the go or touching up throughout the day. It's applicator comes with it so you don't have to worry about bringing a brush or your beauty blender!
You can pick this up at Ulta for $16.99 which is pretty pricey for a drugstore brand but in terms of convenience and accessibility, I think it's worth it. Because it is a medium coverage foundation, I would tend to use it for day time and not for going out. For that I'll stick to my L'Oreal Infallible 24 HR Matte Foundation (click on the title for that review).
My favorite part about the product is the accessibility of it and how it's super handy for day to day. It's medium coverage is quite nice for a natural look. I don't like that it's nearly impossible to tell how much product you have left. With a bottle or tube you can tell but with this you can't. I'm not about to rip out the sponge and possibly destroy it to have a look! However, it is super handy to travel with and take with you on the run!
I would highly recommend this product for someone who finds themselves busy in the morning and a full makeup routine is a hassle or for someone who likes a natural look with medium coverage!
7/10
