Valentine's Day Makeup Look: Smoked Eyeliner

I've been going pretty dramatic and heavy on my going out makeup lately, experimenting with new things and looks I can share with you all, so I decided for Valentine's Day to keep it sweet and simple.

I got the inspiration for this look from Iheartmakeup92 on YouTube. (She does a lot of really dramatic looks that's fun to watch and get inspiration from)
I actually used no eyeliner for this look at all. I kept it simple with just dark shadows. The palettes I used were all from Urban Decay, the Gwen Stefani palette and the Naked Basics 2 palette.
For a lot of looks, I prefer to put my eyelashes on first so it's easier to gauge how dramatic or more intense you need the liner to use.

I used a combination of colors really building the intensity and building my own color in the end.
First, I used Blonde and Skimp from the Gwen palette all over my lid and brow bone as my base.
Then, using the same palette I took Punk, the brown/ maroon color and used that as my smokey color not just lining the lash line but blending it out with an angled brush really giving it a smokey affect.
I used Undone from the Naked Basics 2 palette that's it's darkest color, an off black gray, on the lash line blending that into Punk with the same angled brush.
Then, taking Urban Decay's signature black, Blackout from the Gwen Palette, I pushed the product into the lash line instead of using an eyeliner to keep the look soft.
I then used Anaheim from the Gwen palette which is a taupey brown to make sure Punk was blended out onto the lid.

I kept the brows soft and light using only Cover from the Urban Decay Naked Basics 2 palette and an angled eyebrow brush.
I kept the contour very strong to sharpen up the otherwise soft look.
Lip liner is Mac Nice n Spicy and lipstick is Mac's Brave.
I trimmed a few sections off of the ELF Dramatic eyelashes for this look.

Hope you all had a great Valentine's Day and find inspiration from this look!
